This is Not a

Party Wall

The primary object of study is the

architectural section.

Students design "two houses in one",

with a central circulation as an

armature for negotiating the distinct

needs of each residence.

TWO IN ONE

Two houses intersect to create one.

The result is a house characterized by open spaces and another characterized by closed spaces.

The duality of void vs mass is carried throughout the project.

CIRCULATION

Circulation is nested within the

moments of intersection.

Each house has its separate route

until converging at one point.

In the masses, there is a reading of hollowness.

Stairs appear solid but are carved out from below, allowing head clearance for those walking under.
